It is with great sadness that we inform you that Nancy Wolfson passed away on February 12, 2007. She had been battling Ovarian cancer for many years and recently had taken part in a clinical trial. Nancy volunteered at the Survivorship Table each year to help check in our survivors. Her enthusiasm, constant smile and dedication was deeply appreciated and will be sorely missed. Above is a photograph of Nancy (blue tee shirt) with Dorrie and Deb from our 2005 Relay. |

18 hours of fun for a great cause - Joining the American Cancer Society's fight against cancer. Teams of 8-15 people take turns walking around a track for 18 hours. Families, corporations, clubs, hospitals, churches, and schools all organize Relay teams! Entire communities come together through Relay to step up the fight against cancer. Cancer Survivors: This is For You! It's been said that The American Cancer Society's Relay For Life is a huge support group for cancer survivors. Cancer survivors and caregivers receive special recognition by walking the first lap around the track to begin the relay, followed by a special Dinner in their honor. From the opening Survivors Lap to the Luminaria Ceremony at 9:00pm, to Midnight Madness and the silent walking in the wee hours of the morning, Relay For Life is about support, about love, about hope for tomorrow. Relay For Life of Peabody is now in its 12th year of in the fight against cancer. It takes months of planning, months of hard work, months of dedication by hundreds of individuals for 18 hours of laughter and tears. It's 18 hours of joy for those who have survived and sorrow for those who lost the fight. But most importantly, it is 18 hours of HOPE. Hope that carries each of us on into our daily lives throughout the year. Hope that one day we'll never have to do this, again.
